According to the Canadian Access of Information and Privacy Act, Authorities are supposed to respond in 30 days for Access to Information request (GCMS/CBSA) request. However, in some cases it takes longer than 30 days due to different workload at different offices and the number of pending requests they have. The timeline mentioned in the website is only suggestive as we have no control over the time take by the IRCC/CBSA to process the request. Sometimes, IRCC/CBSA seeks out extension of 30, 60, 90 or 120 days to undertake consultations that are necessary to comply with the request that cannot reasonably be completed within the original time limit.
No, ordering GCMS NOTES has no impact on the processing times of your application. There is no reason to believe that the process can be delayed. Instead, its been observed that some files which were not touched from long time gets noticed as the officers go through the file before releasing the notes under the ATIP request.
CBSA takes help of CSIS in the process of security screening. While some cases gets transferred to CSIS, others are not. Its recommended to order both CBSA and CSIS NOTES to know about the status of background check and screening.
It takes anywhere from 40-50 days to get CBSA and CSIS NOTES. But as these notes are sent to us via mail instead of email, there can be more late due to postal delays. Although the process is lengthy, we make sure that the notes are sent to you as soon as we receive them.

Currently, the federal agencies do not have a system/mechanism in place which allows online tracking of ATIP requests. Some service providers claim the possibility of online tracking and we advice you to beware of such false claims.
All transactions are strictly non-refundable. In any case of refusal or a delay under the law by the concerned authority, to whom the request was submitted, we will not be liable to issue a complete or partial refund.
Due to Covid-19, the ATIP offices are working on reduced operational capacity causing delays in requests submitted. Currently the requests are being processed in 30-40 days however these timelines are strictly suggestive. Rest be assured, your order will be delivered to you in email within 24 business hours of receiving them.
We at GCMSWORLD forward the requested records on same day we receive them from IRCC/CBSA. Therefore, there is no need to enquire if we have received the records yet. Multiple enquiries about the status before passing of 40 days only puts more pressure on our resources.
You only need to contact us if 40 days has passed since you received "APPLICATION FILED" confirmation email and you have not received the records.
No. We at GCMSWORLD, try to forward the records the same day we receive them at all times. As the IRCC/CBSA do not have any online tracking system in place, we are unable to request status of request from concerned authorities. Therefore, we highly rely on communication from their end about the status, extensions or release of records. Once we receive any communication regarding the request, we forward the same to the customer. Therefore, there is no need to follow up and we keep customers informed of all the updates, release of records when we get them.
As the IRCC/CBSA has no online tracking system in place, we strictly rely on communication from their end. Due to inability to check the status, we are unable to provide monthly updates. Whenever we receive any communication from IRCC/CBSA regarding your request, we will forward you the same as soon as possible.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions in place, the offices of the concerned authorities are running at reduced operational capacity to curb the spread of Covid-19. As a result, there are huge delays in processing of record requests.
Due to the above mentioned, we are not receiving records or replies in timely manner. We request you to understand and patiently wait for your orders to be completed.
All the records are requested under the Access to Information & Privacy act. The concerned authorities can take extensions when they are unable to fulfill the requests within reasonable time of 30 days.
Extensions can be taken for limited and specific reasons, which are listed in the following sections of the Acts: Section 9 of the Access to Information Act Section 15 of the Privacy Act
Due to Covid-19, not all requests are being processed in 30 days.
Unfortunately, IRCC and CBSA considers all multiple requests as one and the new order will be considered as the same request and it will only be answered (records released) once. So, we request you to avoid it as we wont be able to send you records under different requests. Kindly place a new order only after you have received records from previous order.
